GoKoreaBeauty.com Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 09/10/2026
Last Updated: 09/11/2026

1. Introduction

Korean American Association LLC, d/b/a GoKorea Beauty (“Korean American Association," "KAA," “GoKoreaBeauty,” “GKB,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates GoKoreaBeauty.com (the “Site”), an independent, informational platform that helps travelers research beauty, health, wellness, and medical-travel options in Korea. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you.

GKB is an informational and educational resource. We are not a medical provider, medical tourism agency, or booking service; we do not arrange treatment or match travelers to providers. This Policy describes our data practices as an information and media platform, not as a healthcare provider, and nothing in this Policy should be read to suggest otherwise.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Site.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily submit when you:

  • Fill out a contact or general inquiry form
  • Submit a business or advertising-partner inquiry (e.g., as a clinic, agency, or brand interested in advertising on GKB)
  • Subscribe to a newsletter or email updates
  • Correspond with us by email or otherwise contact us directly

This may include your name, email address, phone number, and any message content you choose to share, including details about the treatments, destinations, or topics you are researching.

Note on sensitive topics: If you describe a health condition, treatment interest, or similar detail in a message to us, we treat that information with heightened care as described in Section 7 below. You are never required to share this level of detail to use the Site, and we encourage you to share only what you're comfortable providing.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP address and approximate location (derived from IP address)
  • Browser type and version, device type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring/exit pages, and general usage patterns
  • Date and time of visit

C. Information From Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and local storage) to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. See Section 5 for details and your choices.

D. Information We Do Not Knowingly Collect

We do not knowingly collect government identification numbers, payment card or bank account numbers, or protected health information as would be held by a healthcare provider. We do not operate the Site as a HIPAA “covered entity,” and information submitted through our contact forms is not medical record information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the information you've requested
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content
  • Send you newsletters or updates you've opted in to receive
  • Understand how visitors use the Site, in aggregate, so we can improve our guides and resources
  • Communicate with businesses, clinics, agencies, and brands regarding advertising or partnership inquiries
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse of the Site
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use the information you submit to make medical, diagnostic, or treatment decisions, and we do not sell products or services that require processing payment or health-plan information.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers

With vendors who perform services on our behalf (such as website hosting, email delivery, form processing, and analytics), under obligations to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide us.

Providers you contact directly

If you choose to reach out to a clinic, agency, or brand featured on the Site, that communication happens directly between you and that provider — GKB does not act as an intermediary or matching service, and information you share directly with a provider is subject to that provider's own privacy practices, not this Policy.

Business or advertising partner inquiries

If you submit an inquiry as a prospective advertising partner, we use that information to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, consistent with Section 3.

Legal and safety reasons

If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of GKB, our users, or others.

Business transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality obligations.

We do not knowingly share sensitive personal information (see Section 7) for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site may use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

• Essential/functional cookies — necessary for the Site to operate correctly (e.g., remembering basic preferences).

• Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., which pages are most helpful) so we can improve our content, typically through a standard web analytics provider.

We do not currently use the Site to run third-party advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral ad tracking on GKB's own pages. If that changes — for example, if we begin running retargeting or paid social campaigns using tools such as Google, Meta, TikTok, or Pinterest advertising technologies — we will update this Policy and provide the disclosures and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law before doing so.

Your cookie choices.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Because essential cookies support basic site functionality, disabling all cookies may affect how the Site works. Where required by law, we will provide a cookie-consent banner or preference tool.

Do Not Track.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to DNT signals, the Site does not currently respond differently based on DNT signals. We do honor recognized universal opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where legally required, as described in Section 6.

6. Your Privacy Choices

Marketing emails

You may opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by contacting us directly. You may continue to receive non-promotional, transactional messages related to an inquiry you've submitted.

Cookie preferences

See Section 5.

State privacy rights

Residents of certain US states have additional rights described in Sections 7 and 8.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the following rights with respect to your personal information, subject to certain exceptions:

Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, and the categories of sources, purposes, and third parties involved.

• Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

• Right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

• Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell personal information for monetary value, and we do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. If that changes, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as required by law.

• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. “Sensitive personal information” under California law can include health information and other categories you might disclose in a message to us (for example, describing a health condition or treatment interest). We use such information only to respond to your inquiry and do not use or disclose it for purposes beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the information you requested.

• Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Categories of personal information collected (past 12 months):

Identifiers (e.g., name, email, phone number); internet/network activity information (e.g., browsing behavior on the Site); and, where voluntarily submitted, information falling within “sensitive personal information” (e.g., health-related details shared in an inquiry). We have not sold or shared personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, in the preceding 12 months.

How to exercise your rights.

You may submit a request by contacting us using the information in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to our ability to verify that authorization.

California “Shine the Light.”

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

8. Other US State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or others as they take effect), you may have similar rights to those described in Section 7, including rights to access, delete, correct, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. You may exercise these rights using the contact information in Section 13.
